Today, Hong Kong Air Cargo successfully ticks off yet another milestone in its short history when International Air Transport Association (“IATA”) General Manager Hong Kong and Macau Ms. Yvonne HO presents Mr. Jevey ZHANG, President of Hong Kong Air Cargo with the IATA membership certificate.
In September last year, Hong Kong Air Cargo passed the rigorous IATA Operational Safety Audit (“IOSA”), an audit which is internationally recognised and accepted as an evaluation system which is designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline.
Today IATA has awarded a full IATA membership certificate to Hong Kong Air Cargo. IATA is the trade association for the world’s airlines, representing some 290 airlines and 82% of total air traffic. They support many areas of aviation activity and help formulate industry policy on critical aviation issues.
Yvonne HO, General Manager Hong Kong and Macau of IATA said, “We are delighted to welcome Hong Kong Air Cargo as our newest IATA member. Hong Kong Air Cargo have proved that they are indeed a world player in this very tough market, they set the bar high and continue to excel in all areas of safety and best practice”.
Jevey ZHANG, President of Hong Kong Air Cargo said “The completion of our IOSA registration and the receipt of our full IATA membership stands to further confirm Hong Kong Air Cargo’s commitment to the highest standards of operational safety. The recognition of the IATA membership is a proud moment for all of our staff and proves that hard work and determinations pays off. By meeting the worldwide practices and standards set out by IATA, we confidently aim to deliver a truly world class service. We fully support the continuous updating of standards to reflect regulatory revisions and the evolution of best practices within the worldwide airline industry under the continuing stewardship of IATA. Hong Kong Air Cargo will continue to focus on developing its network with an aim to build Hong Kong as an air cargo hub.”
